Beneath the Rubble, Gaza Keeps Counting Its Dead

Over the past three days, medical teams in Gaza have been stretched to breaking point, receiving 17 Palestinians who did not survive the relentless violence, alongside three injured individuals. Many more remain unreachable beneath collapsed buildings and strewn across streets, as emergency teams are hampered by the devastation.

Since the ceasefire took effect on 11 October 2025, at least 266 Palestinians have been killed, with 635 wounded and 548 bodies recovered, highlighting the precarious conditions that persist despite temporary pauses in the bombing. The accumulated toll since 7 October 2023 now stands at 69,483 dead and over 170,000 injured, reflecting the scale of the genocidal war that has gripped the territory.

Today, Gaza’s health authorities received 15 additional bodies released, raising the total number of recovered Palestinian dead to 330. Amid the rubble and the ongoing humanitarian strain, hospitals continue to operate under extreme pressure, documenting the human cost of years of systemic violence and disruption.
