Renewed Strikes and Demolitions Escalate Violence Across Gaza

Early Tuesday, multiple areas across eastern Gaza experienced fresh airstrikes and residential demolitions, leaving civilians at heightened risk. In Rafah, a fisherman was critically wounded by Israeli fire off the coast, while in eastern Gaza City, an explosives-laden armoured vehicle was detonated and several buildings were destroyed beyond what locals call the “yellow line.” Helicopter strikes were reported over the Al-Tuffah neighbourhood, adding to the destruction already inflicted during the ongoing genocidal war.

Further south, eastern Khan Younis faced coordinated artillery fire, smoke munitions, and airstrikes accompanied by heavy gunfire from ground forces. Central Gaza was not spared, with artillery targeting areas northeast of Al-Bureij. In Gaza City, residents reported powerful explosions near Shujaiya, coinciding with intensive shelling and gunfire from military vehicles. The escalation follows repeated violations of the truce, despite a ceasefire agreement implemented in October last year.

The continued bombardment and demolition of civilian buildings have left communities in constant fear and insecurity. Observers warn that such operations, combined with the ongoing blockade and destruction caused by the genocidal war, exacerbate the humanitarian crisis and jeopardise any fragile prospects for lasting stability in Gaza.
