"If Israel implements its plan to annex parts of the West Bank, there will be a European response," the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation Arancha Gonzalith Laya warned tonight.

"We believe that dialogue is the way to move forward in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as we have confirmed the resumption of dialogue," Laya said during a conference with her Swedish counterpart Ann Lindy.

She noted, "The situation will change if Israel unilaterally decides to annex the Palestinian territories."

"This is a conversation that Spain had conducted inside the European Union because the response if the territories are unilaterally annexed -and we hope it won't happen-should be a European response," she added.
