Israeli Forces Detain Palestinians, Including Journalists and Former Prisoners, Across West Bank

Israeli forces carried out widespread raids across the West Bank early Thursday, detaining several Palestinians, including journalists and individuals previously imprisoned. Operations were reported in Jenin, Ramallah, Tulkarem, Nablus, and Hebron, where troops entered homes and searched neighbourhoods under military deployment.

In Jenin, former detainee Shadi Abu Sweis was taken from his home in Rummana, while other raids in Sanur and Meithalun saw young men arrested and residences searched. In Ramallah, Mona Ahmad Abu Hussein, 50, and her son Hammam were detained from their home in Aboud. Military vehicles were deployed across Meithalun as troops carried out house-to-house searches.

Further north, in Tulkarem, five Palestinians were arrested, including Adli Fakhri Al-Akhras and his son Yazan, along with Alaa Abdul Latif and Tareq Samha from nearby areas. In Nablus, troops used tear gas in the city centre and detained journalist Marwan Harzallah in Beit Iba. Arrests also took place in Hebron, including a young man previously injured in a settler attack and another following a violent military raid in Al-Arroub refugee camp.

These operations come amid intensified Israeli military activity across the West Bank, raising serious concerns over human rights and the targeting of individuals involved in media reporting and community leadership.
