Gaza’s Death Toll Continues to Rise as Hospitals Register New Losses

Hospitals across Gaza recorded further loss of life over the past day, with medical facilities receiving several fatalities and injuries linked to the ongoing genocidal war. Among those counted were people whose bodies were pulled from beneath destroyed buildings, underscoring how many remain unaccounted for as rescue efforts continue amid widespread devastation. Medical staff also treated civilians wounded during the same period, adding to an already overwhelmed health system.

Health officials say the days following the announced ceasefire have not brought real relief. Since mid-October, hundreds more deaths have been registered, alongside well over a thousand injuries. Many of those recorded were not newly killed but recovered later from areas previously inaccessible, revealing the delayed human cost of the genocidal war and the scale of destruction left behind.

Looking at the wider picture since early October 2023, the figures paint a grim portrait. Tens of thousands of Palestinians have lost their lives and well over a hundred thousand have been wounded since the genocidal war began. With hospitals struggling, infrastructure shattered and families still searching for missing relatives, the numbers continue to climb even during periods officially described as pauses.
