Campaign to pause posting on Facebook

Dozens of Palestinian media outlets and institutions, in addition to journalists and activists, are participating today in a two-hour pause campaign, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm (Jerusalem time), in protest of Facebook's crackdown on the Palestinian content.

The Palestinian Content Protection Initiative called in a statement, a copy of which obtained by Safa, the Palestinian media to participate in the protest campaign, saying that the Palestinian content on social media sites is being targeted in full coordination between the Israeli occupation government and the administration of these sites, which caused severe damage to the Palestinian media and the spread of its narration.

It pointed out that Facebook has recently expanded its targeting of the Palestinian content, from deleting pages to restricting the access of media pages and news network publications, and some centers have monitored this drop by more than 50%.

It is worth noting that the Palestinian Content Protection Initiative is a gathering of Palestinian media, initiatives, and activists working together to protect Palestinian content.
