President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, stated that settling the Palestinian cause will change the destiny of the whole area, confirming his intent to work with Joe Biden in order to revive the negotiations again.
This came in a joint press conference between the Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Jordan, France, and Germany, who held a meeting yesterday evening to work on the process of the Palestinian-Israeli settlement.
The four ministers discussed the possible steps needed to push the settlement process in the Middle East and create a suitable environment to resume dialogue between Palestinians and Israelis.
They met for the first time in Munich in February 2020, then in Amman in September. Hence, they are holding their next meeting in Paris, as declared.
Al-Sisi pointed out that the destiny of the area will be changed throughout opening new horizons to cooperate with the other governments and countries.
“The ministers are working on preventing any procedures aiming to undermine the two-State Solution,” Ayman Safadi, Jordan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, reported. He condemned Israel’s announcement of building 800 units in the settlements of the West Bank.
Jordan’s Minister stated that the four ministers try to reach a comprehensive settlement via the two-State Solution, confirming that this is the only alternative. He followed, “the world then has to clarify whether they accept an established country based on Apartheid or not.”
“Israeli settlement opposes the International law. If it continues, it will decrease the chance of establishing a Palestinian state,” Jean-Yves Le Drian, Franch Foreign Minister, said.
The joint manifesto of the group confirmed its desire to work with Joe Bide on the settlement process.
Settlement negotiations stopped since April 2014 for several reasons; most notably Israel’s rejection of releasing the old detainees.
