The Israeli municipality forced Jerusalemite to self-demolish his house in Beit Hanina, north of Jerusalem, under the pretext of building without a permit.
The Palestinian Fawaz Abu Hammad stated, according to the Wadi Hilweh Information Center, that the Israeli municipality forced him to demolish his house, which was established 10 years ago.
Abu Hammad pointed out that a court will be held on February 27, to decide on the house issue, whether to demolish it or postpone the order, in addition to imposing financial fines as a “demolition violation.”
He said that he built his house, and recently self-demolished it, after attempts and years during which he tried to get the permit, and paid building violations of 43,000 shekels.
He also confirmed that during the last court, the Israeli municipality wanted to impose a new violation of 35,000 shekels on him, in exchange for delaying the demolition for six months, but he did not agree to that, after years of paying the violations without the possibility of getting a building permit.
