A Palestinian man was killed and another injured on Tuesday evening after an Israeli drone strike targeted a residential area in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, according to local medical sources.
Witnesses said the strike hit the entrance of a family home east of the camp, sending nearby residents rushing to the scene as emergency crews transported the victims to hospital. The attack added to growing fears among civilians living in densely populated areas where air strikes and explosions continue despite the ceasefire announced last year.
Health officials in Gaza say Israeli breaches of the truce have steadily increased in recent months. According to the latest figures, the number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire came into effect on 10 October 2025 has now reached 857, while at least 2,465 others have been wounded.
Residents across the enclave continue to report insecurity and destruction linked to Israel’s ongoing genocidal war, with many families displaced and entire neighbourhoods left heavily damaged after months of bombardment.
