SAFA — Nine Palestinians were killed and several others injured on Sunday as Israeli occupation forces carried out airstrikes, artillery shelling, and heavy gunfire across the Gaza Strip, in another deadly escalation despite the ceasefire agreement.
Israeli forces continued targeting areas where civilians were gathered, while tanks and military vehicles opened fire toward residential neighborhoods and displacement shelters, exposing Palestinians to renewed danger across northern, central, and southern Gaza.
Five Palestinians Killed in Israeli Airstrike on Khan Younis
In southern Gaza, five Palestinians were killed and several others wounded when an Israeli airstrike hit a gathering of civilians near the entrance to the Mango Land area in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis.
The attack came amid intensified Israeli military activity across the city, where tanks opened heavy fire toward eastern and southern neighborhoods as artillery shelling resumed.
Israeli military vehicles also fired toward Hamad City and the surrounding tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in northern Khan Younis, while gunfire from tanks stationed near Salah al-Din Street reached central and western parts of the city, extending the danger well beyond its eastern outskirts.
Three Palestinians Killed in Gaza City
In Gaza City, three Palestinians were killed and several others injured, some critically, when Israeli forces struck a group of civilians behind Taj Mall on al-Thawra Street in the western part of the city.
Israeli artillery also shelled eastern Gaza City, while military vehicles opened heavy fire across the area, adding to the risks facing residents already enduring widespread destruction and displacement.
Palestinian Dies From Earlier Israeli Gunfire in Central Gaza
In central Gaza, Ibrahim Adel Saeed died from wounds sustained several days earlier when Israeli tanks opened fire on the village of al-Masdar.
His death brought the number of Palestinians killed in the attacks and their aftermath on Sunday to nine.
Heavy Israeli Gunfire Continues Near Kamal Adwan Hospital
In northern Gaza, Israeli tanks opened intense fire toward western Beit Lahia, while sustained gunfire continued for hours in the vicinity of Kamal Adwan Hospital.
The continued military activity around the hospital has heightened concerns for civilians in the surrounding area and for Gaza's already devastated healthcare system, which remains under severe strain.
The latest attacks underscore the continuing danger facing Palestinians across the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire, as Israeli airstrikes, artillery shelling, and tank fire continue to claim lives and threaten communities struggling to survive amid widespread destruction.
