SAFA — A Palestinian man died from wounds sustained in an Israeli attack on the Japanese neighborhood northwest of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, as Israeli forces continued their bombardment and gunfire despite the ceasefire agreement.
Local sources identified the victim as Imad Omar Ahmed Radi, 39, who succumbed to his injuries on Monday after being wounded in Israeli shelling targeting the neighborhood.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces continued military attacks across the Gaza Strip. Israeli naval vessels fired several shells into the waters off Gaza City, while warships also shelled the sea off Khan Younis on Tuesday morning.
The continued attacks have heightened concerns for Palestinian civilians, who remain exposed to Israeli bombardment and gunfire more than a year after the ceasefire took effect.
Despite the agreement, Israeli forces have continued carrying out airstrikes, naval shelling, shootings, and demolitions of residential buildings across the territory, undermining efforts to restore safety and stability for Gaza's devastated population.
According to Gaza's Ministry of Health, the Palestinian death toll from Israel's genocidal war on the Gaza Strip has reached 74,609, with another 175,872 people wounded since October 7, 2023.
Thousands of victims remain trapped beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings or in areas that emergency and civil defense crews cannot access, raising concerns that the actual death toll is higher than the officially recorded figure.
The ceasefire agreement, which took effect on October 10, 2025, has been repeatedly violated by Israeli military operations, leaving Palestinian families facing continued threats to their lives even after the declared cessation of hostilities.
