Hospitals in Gaza received 13 more bodies and 57 injured people over the past 48 hours, the territory’s health ministry said on Saturday, as the humanitarian impact of the genocidal war continues to worsen across the enclave.
Health officials said one of the victims later died from earlier wounds, while several others are still believed to be trapped beneath collapsed buildings and debris. Ambulance and civil defence crews remain unable to reach a number of affected areas because of extensive destruction and dangerous conditions on the ground.
According to the ministry, at least 870 Palestinians have been killed and more than 2,500 wounded since the ceasefire announced in October last year. The overall toll since the beginning of the genocidal war in October 2023 has now risen to 72,757 dead and 172,645 injured, officials added.
Authorities also confirmed that another resident died after a damaged building collapsed, bringing the number of deaths linked to unstable structures to 30. Vast areas of Gaza remain in ruins, with many families continuing to live among destroyed homes and heavily damaged infrastructure.
