Four Palestinians Killed as Israeli Strikes and Demolitions Escalate Across Gaza

At least four Palestinians were killed and several others wounded on Sunday as Israeli forces intensified attacks across the Gaza Strip, amid continued violations of the ceasefire agreement and renewed bombardment in multiple areas.

In central Gaza, an Israeli air strike targeted a residential apartment in Nuseirat refugee camp, killing a Palestinian couple and their one-year-old child. The victims were identified as Mohammed Abu Mallouh, 38, his wife Alaa Zaqlaan, 36, and their infant son Osama. Several others were reported injured in the strike.

Earlier in the day, a Palestinian man was shot dead near the Jabalia clinic in northern Gaza, while another civilian was wounded after Israeli naval forces opened fire towards the Sudania coastline north-west of Gaza City. Witnesses also reported continuous gunfire from Israeli naval vessels along the coast.

Israeli artillery shelling and large-scale demolitions were recorded in different parts of the territory throughout the morning. According to local reports, Israeli forces carried out at least eight demolition operations east of Khan Younis, Gaza City and northern Gaza, while military vehicles fired heavily in eastern Khan Younis. An additional air strike was also reported in the north-western part of the Strip.

Israeli forces have continued military operations across Gaza despite the ceasefire announced last October, with repeated strikes, shootings and destruction reported on an almost daily basis. Gaza’s health authorities say that since the truce came into effect, at least 890 Palestinians have been killed, more than 2,600 wounded, and hundreds of bodies recovered from destroyed areas across the territory.
