Gaza Death Toll Continues to Rise Despite Ceasefire Claims

Health officials in Gaza said on Tuesday that hospitals across the territory received the bodies of six Palestinians over the past 24 hours, including four recovered from beneath rubble, while another 34 people were reported wounded as Israeli attacks and their aftermath continue across the besieged enclave.

Medical authorities stated that rescue crews remain unable to reach a number of victims trapped under collapsed buildings or lying in inaccessible areas due to ongoing danger and the scale of destruction caused by the genocidal war. Emergency and civil defence teams continue to face severe operational difficulties amid widespread devastation to roads and infrastructure.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, 906 Palestinians have been killed and 2,747 wounded since the ceasefire announced on 11 October last year, while hundreds of bodies have also been recovered during search operations. The ministry added that the overall toll since the start of the genocidal war in October 2023 has risen to 72,803 dead and 172,855 injured, underscoring the catastrophic humanitarian impact of the continuing violence on the population of Gaza.
