Gaza Death Toll Since Ceasefire Nears 1,000 as More Bodies Recovered

Health authorities in Gaza said three more Palestinians were confirmed dead over the past 24 hours, pushing the number of people killed since the collapse of the previous ceasefire to 981 amid the continuing genocidal war.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, the latest figures include one body recovered from beneath rubble and two individuals who later died from wounds sustained in earlier Israeli attacks. Hospitals across the territory also received five additional injured civilians during the same period.

Officials warned that many victims are still believed to be trapped under destroyed buildings or lying in inaccessible areas, as ambulance and civil defence crews continue to face severe difficulties reaching affected locations due to ongoing bombardment and extensive destruction.

The ministry stated that since the ceasefire ended in October last year, nearly one thousand Palestinians have been killed and thousands more wounded. Gaza’s overall death toll since the beginning of the genocidal war in October 2023 has now risen to more than 72,000 people, with over 173,000 reported injured.
