SAFA- Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of raids across multiple areas of the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem on Wednesday, conducting house searches, arrests, and field interrogations, according to local sources.
In the central West Bank, Israeli occupation forces entered the village of Beit Rima in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate, where clashes reportedly broke out with Palestinian residents. Troops also raided the home of former prisoner Mahmoud Yousef Al-Barghouthi in the nearby village of Deir Ghassaneh, searched another house in Al-Mazra’a Al-Gharbiya, and entered the Umm Al-Sharayet neighborhood in the city of Al-Bireh.
In the Nablus governorate, Israeli forces raided the towns of Beita and Einabus, as well as the village of Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya. Several homes were searched in Beita, where Farouq Majdi Hamayel was arrested after soldiers raided his family’s home.
South of Nablus, Israeli settlers reportedly removed electricity poles and used them to provide power to a newly established settlement outpost near the villages of Madama and Burin.
In Jenin governorate, Israeli occupation forces entered the town of Burqin and searched a residential property during the operation. Further south, troops raided the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, while in Qalqilya city, Israeli forces arrested Wael Dawoud after storming his home.
In occupied East Jerusalem, Israeli occupation forces entered Qalandia refugee camp and raided the Popular Committee building, which they reportedly converted into a temporary field interrogation center. Several young Palestinian men were arrested after their homes were searched inside the camp.
Settler violence was also reported on Wednesday. A Palestinian woman was injured and a family vehicle was damaged after settlers allegedly threw stones at cars on the Marj Say’ Plain road northeast of Ramallah. In a separate incident, settlers reportedly sprayed foreign solidarity activists with pepper spray in the Al-Ka’abneh community near the village of Al-Taybeh, east of Ramallah.
In the southern West Bank, Israeli forces detained 25 Palestinians during a raid on Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem. According to security sources, Israeli troops entered the camp, searched a large number of homes, and gathered 25 residents inside the Phoenix Hall, where they were held for several hours and subjected to on-site questioning before being released later the same day.
