Israeli Settlers Attack Palestinians Near Hebron, Elderly Man Injured

SAFA- Israeli settlers attacked Palestinians on Sunday in the town of Surif, northwest of Hebron, in the occupied West Bank, injuring an elderly man and leaving several others with bruises and minor injuries.

Surif Mayor Hazem Ghneimat told the Palestinian news agency WAFA that a group of armed settlers wielding sticks and clubs assaulted Palestinians at their homes in the Khallat Ghneimat area. An elderly man sustained head injuries after being beaten during the attack.

Ghneimat added that several other Palestinians suffered bruises and minor injuries.

In a separate incident on Sunday, Israeli settlers released a herd of cattle into orchards in the Khallat al-Homs area, south of Yatta, in the Hebron Governorate.

Local sources said the cattle damaged trees and crops on farmland belonging to Samir Obeid.

Communities across the Hebron Governorate, particularly those located near Israeli settlements and outposts, have witnessed an increase in settler attacks targeting Palestinian residents and their property.

The attacks have included physical assaults, arson targeting homes and schools, the destruction of water wells, gunfire, the release of livestock onto Palestinian farmland, the destruction of trees and crops, and preventing farmers from accessing their land, all under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
