SAFA - In one of the most harrowing scenes witnessed during Israel’s ongoing genocide on Gaza, rescue workers recovered the body of an unborn baby from beneath the rubble of a residential building destroyed in an Israeli airstrike west of Gaza City.

The strike targeted an apartment in Al-Sousi Tower, killing Abdullah Adnan Abu Al-Tayf, his wife Abeer Kamal Kazem Anan, and their young son, Azzam. Rescue teams later discovered the unborn baby after the mother's death, turning what had been a family awaiting the arrival of a new child into another devastating loss.

Field photographers and emergency responders who documented the aftermath said the scene was among the most distressing they had encountered since the beginning of Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza. Images from the site underscored the scale of destruction and the profound human toll of the conflict.

The tragedy has become a stark symbol of the suffering endured by Palestinian families, as entire households continue to be wiped out in airstrikes. Children remain among the victims, including those who never had the chance to be born.

Beyond the casualty figures are lives interrupted and futures erased. For this family, hopes for welcoming a new child ended beneath the rubble, alongside the parents and sibling who were preparing for that moment.

According to local reports, Israeli airstrikes overnight and into Sunday morning struck multiple areas across the Gaza Strip, including Jabalia, Al-Qarara west of Khan Younis, Deir al-Balah, and Gaza City. The attacks killed at least 10 Palestinians, including three children and three women, and wounded several others.
