Israeli Forces, Settlers Step Up Attacks on Palestinians Across West Bank

SAFA -  Israeli occupation forces carried out a large-scale wave of raids and arrests across the occupied West Bank early Wednesday, entering Palestinian towns and villages, ransacking homes, and detaining residents. 

At the same time, Israeli settlers launched attacks and intensified settlement-related activities in several areas.

In Jenin governorate, Israeli occupation forces raided the towns of Silat al-Dhahr, Arraba, Kafr Rai, Al-Silah al-Harithiya and Al-Yamun, as well as the villages of Arabouna and Bartaa and Khirbet Khrouba, north of Jenin.

Israeli forces  searched homes in Arraba and Al-Yamun and continued raids in Silat al-Dhahr, where several young men were reportedly arrested. 

A young Palestinian was also detained during a raid on Khirbet Khrouba, while several Palestinian workers were arrested in Bartaa, southwest of Jenin.

In Ramallah governorate, Israeli forces raided Birzeit, Turmusaya and Deir Qaddis, carrying out extensive searches of homes in Turmusaya.

Meanwhile, Israeli settlers attempted to storm the Abu Faza’a community near Al-Taybeh village, east of Ramallah. 

In a separate incident, settlers attacked a Palestinian vehicle with stones and pepper spray on the road between Abu Falah and Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.

In Nablus, Israeli forces stormed  the eastern part of the city through the Huwara checkpoint before raiding Kafr Qallil to the south. 

They arrested Yasser Marjan after storming his home. Local sources also reported that settlers entered parts of Nablus in their vehicles.

Israeli raids were also reported in Tammun in Tubas governorate; the Al-Tarabee’ area of Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem, where troops reportedly fired illumination flares; Baqa al-Sharqiya and Shweika in northern Tulkarm; Surif, north of Hebron; and Siniriya, south of Qalqilya.

In Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, Israeli forces arrested brothers Salah and Mohammed Ibrahim Shanan after raiding their home in Khirbet Wad al-Rakhim, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Soceity.

Israeli forces also raided Al-Arroub refugee camp, triggering confrontations in which troops reportedly fired live ammunition. 

Meanwhile, Israeli settlers continued attacks and settlement-related activities across the West Bank. 

In the eastern part of Ad-Duqaiqa village in Masafer Yatta, settlers erected a tent on privately owned Palestinian land in an attempt to establish a new unauthorized settlement outpost.

The latest developments come amid continued Israeli military raids and arrests across the occupied West Bank, alongside escalating settler violence and expanding settlement activity in several Palestinian communities.
