Member of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Belgian Federal Parliament, Simon Mutcan, said that the International Criminal Court’ (ICC) decision to have jurisdiction over the Palestinian territories is an opportunity for clear condemnations of the Israeli settlement policy.

Mutcan said in a press statement on Sunday that “this move is a good news for a just and lasting peace in the Middle East."

The judges of the ICC on Friday issued a decision of the geographical jurisdiction of the court over the Palestinian territories, including the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem, which paves the way for the start of an investigation into war crimes committed by Israel against Palestine.
