Israeli Attacks on Gaza Schools and Hospitals Draw Condemnation as War Crimes

Palestinian officials and human rights groups have accused Israel of committing war crimes by repeatedly targeting schools, hospitals, and universities in Gaza, in clear violation of international law. The latest bombardment has left critical civilian infrastructure in ruins, deepening the humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave.

The remarks come as Peter Beinart, editor-at-large of "Jewish Currents", challenged pro-Israel advocates on CNN, rejecting claims that justify the displacement of Gaza’s population or the destruction of civilian sites. He pointed out the hypocrisy of Israel embedding its own military headquarters in central Tel Aviv while attacking Palestinian facilities under the guise of targeting militants.

“If Israel can place its military command in the heart of a civilian area, why is it a crime when Palestinians are forced to exist under the same conditions?” Beinart argued. International law prohibits attacks on medical and educational institutions, yet Israeli strikes have repeatedly levelled hospitals and schools in Gaza, leaving thousands without shelter or medical care.

As casualties mount, Palestinian leaders demand accountability, calling on the international community to intervene and halt what they describe as a systematic campaign of collective punishment against civilians.
