Initiative launched to support the traders of the old city

Jerusalemite activists launched today an initiative to support the traders in the old city of Jerusalem in the wake of the harsh economic damage that affected them due to the closure imposed by the Israeli authorities under the pretext of fighting the coronavirus.

The activists called on the Jerusalemite families to identify their weekly and monthly needs, and to buy them from the old shops of the city in order to help the readers recover as the ongoing closure imposed on them exhausted them.

They confirmed that what is required is to shop from the shops in the old city instead of shopping from the stores that lie near the houses.

They mentioned that the Jerusalemite families continued buying their needs throughout the closure from the stores near their homes.

When the closure ended after more than 40 days, life returned to the shops of the old city.

Traders of the old city welcomed and appreciated the initiative, declaring sales of 50% for the goods to help the families buy their needs with suitable prices regarding the economic conditions Jerusalem faces.

More than 1000 shops in old Jerusalem suffer from dept overhang and lack of sells.
