Legal efforts made to release a prisoner shot in the belly

Detainees and Ex-detainees commission stated that legal efforts are made to release the Palestinian prisoner, Noureddine Al-Bitawi, from Jenin, who was shot in the belly days ago.

It also mentioned that the medical conditions of Abdel-Rahman, 22, from Hebron, are getting better.

"A-Bitawi went out of the intensive care, where he has been lying in for more than a week in a risky medical status," the commission said to Safa.

It added, "doctors of the Israeli Emek Medical Center cut parts of his intensities during an operation conducted to him."

Israeli occupation authorities held a trial session in the absence of Al-Bitawi to extend his detention for 4 days. His lawyer asked the court to release him regarding his harsh medical status and the medical incapacity that will affect him.

The court decided to move his file to the prosecution to either, release him or accuse him.

Israeli occupation forces arrested Al-Bitawi after shooting him in the belly in Jenin, causing him severe injury.

Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs Commission also stated that Abdel-Rahman Burqan's health status is getting a little bit improved, in which he was being moved from the intensive care to the department of surgery in Shaare Zedek Medical Center.

It pointed out that the apparatuses for anesthesia have been removed, but he is still under respirators, having speech difficulty, and suffering from pains all over his body.

Burqan was shot in the leg and colon by the Israeli forces in Hebron a month ago.

The commission finally mentioned that Ofer Military Court extended Burqan's detention for 8 days, under the pretext of completing his investigation.
