Israeli hospital refuses to treat the cancer prisoner, Masalma

The Israeli Soroka Medical Center administration on Wednesday began the procedures of transferring the cancer prisoner, Hussein Masalma, to Hadassah Hospital, despite the risk of his transfer due to his critical health condition.

The prisoner's father, Mohammad Masalma, told Safa that the doctors had taken his son out of the recovery room, despite the deteriorating of his health, in preparation for his transfer to Hadassah hospital.

He explained that the family does not object to any measure that would provide a better treatment for his son, but without endangering his life.

As for the spokesman for the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Committee, Hassan Abed Rabbo, told Safa that Soroka Medical Center provided the prisoner, Masalma, with treatment for about a month and a half, but his administration expressed dissatisfaction with the number of visitors to the prisoner after his release a few days ago.

Abed Rabbo pointed out that there are instructions from President Mahmoud Abbas to follow up the prisoner's health conditions and to pay any bill the hospital requests for treatment.
