PPS condemns Israel's detention of Palestinian man with COVID-19

The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) condemned the Israeli occupation authorities for the detention of a Palestinian young man, Assem Jamil Shtayyeh, 27, with COVID-19 from Nablus.

Shtayyeh has tested positive for COVID-19 on February 22, and was detained by the Israeli occupation forces during a raid on his family's home in Nablus.

Shtayyeh was still suffering moderate COVID-19 symptoms, according to his family.

PPS urged the World Health Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross and all the competent international bodies to immediately intervene to release Shtayyeh, and to pressure the Israeli occupation authorities to halt the systematic policy of daily arrests.
