Qussai Elyyan, a 22-Palestinian-youth, is no longer able to move his left hand and leg as he suffered a heart attack during a harsh Israeli investigation in a police center in occupied Jerusalem.
Qussai went through a very hard investigation where the detectives did not care about his health conditions causing him hypertension which led to a heart attack.
He has been suffering from problems in the lungs since he was 9 years old. Doctors obliged him to take two injections each two weeks.
"I was heading to the hospital to take the injection on that Tuesday evening. An Israeli police car crossed out the way and asked us to stop and show identities," Qussai said.
He said that the police officer asked him to get out of the car because he is required. Even though they told him that they have an appointment with the doctor, they insisted to arrest him.
"The officer insulted me and humiliated me. He deliberately smoked to my face even though he knew that my father had conducted a lung transplant," Qussai added.
His land and leg no longer work
Qussai said that when he arrived at the police center, he was subjected to a body search and a provocative investigation. He asked the officer to put his injections in the fridge, but he said, "we have no fridges."
After the investigation, he entered a very cold room and slept for half an hour. when he woke up, he suffered from a terrible headache, hypothermia, and blurred vision. He tried to stand up, but he could not.
As Qussai said, the police called the ambulance to move him to Hadassah Medical Center.
Handcuffed
Qussai's brother, Mahmoud, said that the police called him after arresting Qussai and asked him to bring personal documentations for his brother.
"I was surprised that the lawyer called me that night and asked me to go to the police center to make bail because they want to release Qussai. I went and paid 5.000 NIS," Mahmoud said.
He asked about his brother, and they told him he was moved to the hospital.
"When I went to the hospital, I saw my brother handcuffed. He was unable to move his left hand and leg. I asked the doctors about his medical situation, and they told me that his blood pressure was high," Mahmoud said.
Mahmoud mentioned that the doctors' behaviors in the hospital were very bad in which they kept delaying providing Qussai with medicins.
Qussai is still unable to move his left side of the body. He is at home waiting for his next appointment to diagnose his health situation.
He felt a shortness of breath and was moved to Hadassah Medical Center yesterday so the doctors told him that he has an inflammation of the lungs.
Mahmoud holds the Israeli occupation responsible for Qussai's stoke, confirming that they arrested him even though they were aware of his bad health situation.
