Israeli party accuses Netanyahu of being unable to protect the settlers in Jerusalem

The ongoing clashes and Israeli attacks caused mutual recrimination in the Righ-Wing political party in Israel.

Channel 12 (Israel) stated that Bezalel Smotrich, head of the settlers' party and the most powerful ally to Benjamin Netanyahu, attacked and accused him of failing to protect the settlers in Jerusalem.

Smotrich said, for the first time, that it is the time to replace Netanyahu's role.

He disapproved of Netanyahu's calls to calm tempers in Jerusalem, especially after the fall of dozens of rockets from Gaza.

"After a series of attacks and attempts to kill the Jewish people in the latest days, and after the wave of rockets sent from Gaza to Israel, Netanyahu calls for calming tempers. It might the right time to replace him," Somtrich wrote on Twitter.

Members of the Likud party attacked Smotrich, in response, and accused him of ingratitude.

Other observers said that there will be important implications on the level of Netanyahu's ability to constitute a right-wing government. Naftali Bennett, head of the New Right, first abandoned Netanyahu and then Somtrich. Hence, Netanyahu's possibility to constitute a government in the upcoming then days is very weak.
