Israel and the United Arab Emirates have reached a deal to normalize relations, with Israel agreeing to suspend its controversial plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank.
An Israeli political official confirmed on Thursday evening that despite the normalization deal with the UAE, the West Bank annexation plan is still on the table.
"The West Bank annexation is still on the table and Israel is committed to it," the official told Israel's Channel 7 TV news. "The Trump administration asked us to temporarily suspend the sovereignty to parts of West Bank so that the historic peace agreement with the UAE can be implemented."
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed Bin Zayed, said that it was agreed to suspend annexation of parts of the West Bank in exchange for the historic agreement with Israel.
