Mohammed Shtayyeh, Prime Minister of Palestine, called on UNICEF and UN commissions to follow up on Human Rights Watch's report which documented Israel's crimes against humanity in the Palestinian lands like apartheid and persecution.
"Israel's crimes against the Palestinian children requires bigger efforts from the international organizations to prevent Israel from continuing its violations," Shtayyeh said to Ted Chaiban, regional manager of UNICEF, in a meeting on Monday.
Shtayyeh discussed with Chaiban ways to strengthen the cooperation and briefed him on several laws issued regarding the age a child could marry, family protection, and other governmental projects to reduce unemployment.
The international official appreciated the Palestinian efforts made to protect childhood, like issuing a strategic plan to combat violence against children, determining the age to marry, and opening a dialogue about the family protections act.
