The Palestinian Institute for Communication and Development said that the Israeli occupation, by the targeting of Palestinian journalists, aims at intimidating and preventing them from spreading the truth and showing the crimes and violations committed against the Palestinians by Israel.
The Institute condemned, in a press release, the killing of the journalist Yousef Abo Hussein by an Israel airstrike on his home, and the targeting of several journalists and Palestinian media offices.
It confirmed that the policy of targeting journalists, writers, and authors is old. It started 10 years ago when the Israeli occupation assassinated Ghassan Kanafani and Majid Abu Sharar and killed dozens of journalists during wars and attacks over Gaza and the West Bank such as the journalist Yassir Mourtaja, who was killed by the Israeli soldiers during the Great March of Return.
It also mentioned that the Israeli authorities seek to assassinate the Palestinian story which the whole world wrap around it due to the efforts made by dozens of journalists, Palestinian activists, Arabs, and foreigners to confront the fake Israeli story.
The Palestinian Institute for Communication and Development called on the United Nations and the international organization to force Israel to stop its crimes committed against the Palestinian people and journalists and to hold Israel accountable.
The Israeli military killed the journalist Yousef Abu Hussein after targeting his home in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza.
