Israeli forces extend offical's detention

Israeli Court Wednesday extended the administrative detention of Hamas official, Ahmed Youssef Awad, from Nablus, for a period of four new months.

The family of the detainee Awad reported that the court extended his detention for four months administratively, one day before the end of his first sentence and his release.

The Israeli Court on June 9, 2020, transferred the detainee Awad to administrative detention for a period of four months, which could be extended, without any charge or trial.

The Israeli forces detained Awad on June 2, 2020, after storming his house in the Al-Makhfeya neighborhood in Nablus, blowing up the door of the house in the pre-dawn hours, and ransacking it.

It is noteworthy that Awad spent nine years away from his family, six years of which were in the Israeli jails, most of which were in administrative detention, two years in the Authority's prisons, and one year he spent as a hunted person before being detained.
