In the early hours of Monday, Israeli forces stormed towns and villages across the occupied West Bank, detaining more than 20 Palestinians in a broad and aggressive arrest campaign that left homes ransacked, families traumatised, and communities under lockdown.
Hebron saw the highest number of detentions, with at least 11 residents taken, including young men from the city centre and nearby towns such as Bani Na'im, Taffouh, and Beit Awwa. Witnesses reported soldiers using excessive force during the raids, beating detainees and vandalising property. Military checkpoints and roadblocks were erected throughout the governorate, choking movement and access to daily essentials.
In Ramallah, former prisoners and their family members were targeted. In the town of Birzeit, Israeli troops arrested an entire family, a father, his sons, and even a grandson, some of whom had recently been released in prisoner exchanges. In Qalqilya and Nablus, similar tactics were used: violent raids, arbitrary detentions, and field interrogations. In Jenin’s Sanur village, dozens of residents were held for hours as soldiers searched homes and destroyed belongings.
No charges have been announced, and most of the detainees were taken without warrants, a routine violation under the Israeli military justice system in the West Bank.
These latest arrests come amid escalating repression, as Israel continues to intensify its military grip across Palestinian towns while a war rages in Gaza. For many in the West Bank, the line between military operations and collective punishment is now indistinguishable, every door can be broken, every home raided, every child taken.
