AP fires Jewish journalist supports Palestine

The American Associated Press news agency fired the American Jewish journalist Emily Wilder, due to her activism and tweets in support of the Palestinians.

“I was fired for allegedly violating the company's social media policies in terms of its values and news principles between May 3 and May 20, 2021," according to Wilder's statement to The Guardian.

Wilder said the agency did not show her any tweets that violated its policy.

A spokesperson for the agency said that "although we are not talking about personnel matters, Wilder's case will be discussed. She was fired for violating the agency's social media policies during its working period."

Wilder has tweeted 18 times on her personal Twitter account since she started working for The Associated Press, since May 1 of this month.

In her tweets, Wilder expressed her support for the Palestinians against the Israeli aggression, which was incited by the right-wing American media against it.

Israeli missiles destroyed a 13-storey building in Gaza that housed the American Associated Press office and the Qatari Al-Jazeera news channel, during the aggression on Gaza.
