The Palestinian head of the Polish Parliamentary Committee called on its country to engage in the procedures that would bring peace to the Middle East region.
She said, in a press release held in the Palestinian Embassy in Warsaw, capital of Poland, with the involvement of Palestine's Ambassador in Poland Mahmoud Khalifeh, "What happened in Gaza is a humanitarian misery. We cannot stay negative towards what is happening there."
She mentioned that it has been written an open letter for Poland's government to provide emergency medical assistance for the Palestinians in Gaza.
"We feel comfortable towards the victory of diplomacy and efforts made for reaching a ceasefire between the Israeli occupation and the Palestinian resistance by the big role played by Egypt," she said.
She added, "the fight stopped, but the situation in Gaza due to the damage caused by Israel still stands, as during 11 days of the aggression, more than 270 people were killed and 8500 injured."
"We, as members of Parliament, cannot stand silent in front of what is happening. We would like to return peace and calmness to the region," she said.
She called on the Polish Parliament to engage in the actions that would bring peace to the Middle East as Gaza cannot get up again without international support; there is no drinking water, and the only electricity station was targeted.
"I lived the situation in Gaza, and I have been in touch with the Palestinian people where dozens of them live in a very small space. As we saw in the film that came up before, mosques, police stations, media offices, and 2000 residential units were completely destroyed; 17000 other units were partially destroyed," she said.
She also noted that there is a need for $150 million so life in Gaza gets back to normal, and the assistance must reach the Palestinians because we, as Polish people, had the protection and assistance when we needed them and that what we must do for the Palestinians now.
