The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas hailed the United Nations Human Rights Council's decision to launch a probe into Israeli violations against Palestinians.

In press remarks, the head of Hamas' Media Office Raafat Morra said that “this is a step on the right path.”

He stated that this would be a practical measure towards finding the truth and bringing justice to the Palestinians.

Morra also hailed this decision as a step to expose the acts of terror and crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948.

This decision is a necessary prelude to prosecuting the Israeli occupation for its crimes against the Palestinian people, the Hamas official stressed.
