300,000 Palestinians Displaced in Northern Gaza as Israeli Assault Escalates

In just two days, over 300,000 Palestinians have been forced from their homes in northern Gaza amid one of the most ferocious waves of destruction in the ongoing Israeli assault. According to the Palestinian authorities, at least 200 civilians were killed and more than 1,000 housing units were obliterated or damaged during this latest onslaught.

The scale of the devastation has turned Gaza City—already shattered and stripped of infrastructure—into a desperate refuge for tens of thousands. With tents deliberately torched by Israeli drones and basic necessities like food, water, and medicine scarce, families now sleep on the rubble of a city that can no longer shelter them.

Palestinian rescue workers report that 140 bodies remain trapped under debris, unreachable due to deliberate Israeli targeting of emergency crews. As airstrikes continue to hit already devastated buildings, survivors describe the north as a place where "everything that moves is a target"—people, vehicles, even those trying to save lives.

Gaza’s civil defence teams warn of a deepening humanitarian catastrophe, made worse by a total blockade and the destruction of shelters. Burning tents in refugee camps like Jabalia and Beit Lahiya are only the latest signs of a campaign many Palestinians describe as ethnic cleansing under the eyes of a silent world.

Calls are growing for international intervention. Palestinian officials are urging the immediate opening of Gaza’s crossings for aid and the deployment of rescue teams, while holding Israel and its backers—including the US, UK, Germany and France—accountable for what they describe as war crimes.

As the bombs fall and families flee yet again, Gaza stands as a grim testament to the cost of international inaction.
