Union of Palestinian Women's Committees condemned the Palestinian Security Forces' repression against the Palestinian women participating in protests against the assassination of Nezar Banat.
It called on the General Union of Palestinian Women to open an urgent investigation into the assassination.
"While the Palestinian women are facing Israeli colonial activities in Sheikh Jarrah, Silwan, and Beita and while Gaza's women are trying to go back to their normal lives after the heartless damage the Israeli occupation caused in the recent war on Gaza, another hand affected the men and women in Ramallah as the slogans of freedom fell down by the Security Forces' sticks," Union of Palestinian Women's Committees said.
It condemned the Security Forces' attacks against the Palestinian women; participants and journalists, as they were exposed to beating, physical and sexual harassment, threats, psychological violence, and humiliation.
It confirmed that this is a national crime that cannot be overlooked
It assured that the Palestinian women were not and will not be free bodies for anyone no matter what the conditions are.
It renewed its complete support to the journalists and other participants whose phones were seized by the Security Forces, calling for holding all perpetrators into accountability.
