Hamas: Renewing administrative detention of ex-minister confirms that Israel is continuing its war against Jerusalem and its Palestinian figures

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas said that renewing the administrative detention of former Jerusalemite minister Khalid Abu Arafa for four months confirms that the Israeli occupation is continuing its war against Jerusalem and its Palestinian figures.

"This ongoing war proves that the Israeli occupation is disappointed by the Palestinians’ steadfastness in Jerusalem and by Jerusalemite figures being out of custody," said Hamas spokesperson in Jerusalem Mohammed Hamada.

"This move comes days after the Israeli occupation authorities detained Palestinian official and parliamentarian Mohammed Abu Tair and referred him to administrative detention," added Hamada.

"Thus, we, in Hamas, confirm our rejection of this form of imprisonment which violates all international laws, and call for facing off this measure and all forms of incarceration," he stressed.

"We salute the former minister of Jerusalem affairs, a remarkably resilient national figure who has embraced the Palestinian cause and the Jerusalem issue."
