Global Media Condemns Gaza Famine, Labels Israeli Minister “Minister of Starvation”

International press outlets have sharply criticised the escalating famine in Gaza, spotlighting the brutal impact of Israel’s blockade and targeting Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar as the “Minister of Starvation” for his role in obstructing humanitarian aid.

The Telegraph highlighted a powerful joint statement from 111 humanitarian groups, including Médecins Sans Frontières, Save the Children, and Oxfam, calling for an immediate ceasefire, full reopening of crossings, and unrestricted aid flow under UN supervision. The report underscored the desperation of Palestinians trapped between broken promises and collapsing aid systems.

In stark contrast, Breitbart dismissed these concerns, accusing relief organisations of ignoring Israeli hostages and defending Israel’s “Gaza Humanitarian Coalition,” while rejecting reports of attacks on aid distribution sites as “false.”

Meanwhile, Haaretz echoed international outrage, condemning Sa’ar’s refusal to renew the residency permit of the UN’s top humanitarian coordinator in Gaza as part of Israel’s assault on international law. The newspaper demanded the reopening of crossings and unhindered access for aid agencies.

French daily Le Monde detailed the worsening water crisis amid blistering summer heat, revealing how fuel shortages and Israeli bombardments cripple water stations. Hundreds of thousands living in makeshift tents face the horrific choice of drinking seawater, until recently banned by Israeli forces under threat of “instant retaliation.”

In an unusual public critique, Israeli paper Yedioth Ahronoth urged Israel to rescue its soldiers, and itself, from the Netanyahu government’s disastrous policies. Citing exhausted troops and mounting civilian suffering, the editorial called for an immediate end to the war, exposing the internal dissent amid mounting humanitarian catastrophe.

As the famine deepens and aid remains strangled, international voices unite in demanding an end to the siege, and justice for Gaza’s starving millions.
