The head of the Gaza Palestine General Federation of Trade Union Sami Al-Amassi reported that 29 Palestinian workers lost their lives in Israeli workshops and construction sites in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Al-Amassi mourned the Palestinian youth Shadi Saleem who was shot and killed by the Israeli bullets during his work as a water technician in Beita town southern Nablus.
He informed that 47 Palestinian workers had lost their lives in work accidents and construction sites during the past year; the majority in the West Bank. Thousands were severly injured by work accidents.
He noted that three Palestinian workers were killed in isolated accidents on July 15: Anas Al-Zagha, 28, was killed after he was electrocuted while restoring a building in Petah Tikva town. A 60-years-old worker from Bisan town and a 20-years-old worker from Tubas were also killed during their work in construction sites.
Al-Amassi also referred to the serious injury of a 24-years-old man after he was electrocuted during his work in a mall a Tel Aviv.
"The Israeli employers deliberately humiliate the Palestinian workers and undermine the value of their souls," he said.
He also confirmed that the increase of death toll in the occupied Palestinian territories requires everyone to take their responsibilities protecting the workers' souls and compensate their families for their losses.
