Israel releases a minor from Acre

The Israeli occupation court on Monday released a 16-year-old minor from the city of Acre in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1948 after his arrest against the background of the popular uprising in support of Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa and the Gaza Strip, and against the settlers’ attacks on the Palestinian citizens last May.

The minor was released without restrictive conditions after all the suspicions that had been fabricated against him were dropped.

The lawyer, Muhammad Al-Hajj, who was entrusted with the defense of the minor, stated that "the minor was released without an indictment after an investigation that lasted for 13 days, despite the mental disorders he suffers from."

"We eventually succeeded in proofing the weakness of the evidence against him and releasing him," he added.
