The Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs Commission stated that the ex-prisoner Hussein Masalma, sick with cancer, died in the Israeli prisons last night.
Munqeth Abu Atwan, the head of the commission, said that Masalma has been suffering from severe pains that lasted for more than two weeks since the beginning of 2020. However, the Israeli occupation did not allow to transfer him to the hospital. Instead, it continued to practice the policy of slow death and medical negligence over him.
He also said that the Israeli occupation did not transfer him to the hospital except when his health conditions were totally deteriorated. In later phases, they discover that he is sick with cancer. Since his release in Feb 2021, he has been in the hospital. Today, he passed away.
Masalma was arrested in 2002 and sentenced to 20 years. He spent 19 years of his life in the Israeli occupation's prisons.
