Haniyeh calls Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs

Head of Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, called His Excellency the Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs Saifuddin Abdullah. During the call, Haniyeh emphasized the strong bilateral relations with Malaysia praising the Malaysian position that supports Palestinian rights and rejects normalization with the occupation.

Hamas chief updated His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs on many issues, particularly the continuous Israeli occupation aggression against our Palestinian people in the occupied city of Jerusalem, violations of the sanctities, and attempts to impose temporal and spatial division in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The movement’s top leader referred to the colonial settler's daily attacks against our Palestinian people in the West Bank, theft and confiscation of Palestinian lands, building and expanding the colonial settlements.

Haniyeh also updated him on the unjust and racist Zionist measures against the Palestinian detainees in the occupation’s prisons, stressing the need to provide them a decent life and make all efforts to release them.

Stressing the need to end the siege and provide all facilities for reconstruction and relief for the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip, the movement’s chief reviewed the current developments in the Gaza Strip represented in the siege and reconstruction of what the occupation has destroyed in the previous aggression.

Haniyeh also referred to the Palestinian refugees' conditions in diaspora and the required work to provide them a decent life and achieve the return to their homes from which they were displaced.

For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed his country’s support for Palestinian rights stressing that Malaysia always stands by Palestine in all forums, and strongly rejects normalization with the Israeli occupation. His excellency emphasized that his country will continue to work on the issues of Jerusalem, detainees, and the situation of the Palestinians and support them all.
