Haniyeh: Jordan is the pulse of Jerusalem

Head of Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, confirmed that Jordan is the pulse of Jerusalem, and the Jordanian and Palestinian peoples have a common destiny, and one soul in two bodies.

During telephone participation in a campaign to collect financial donations organized by the Jordanian Engineers Association, on the Jordanian Hosna Radio, which aims to contribute in renovating the houses of the Jerusalemites in the Old City of Jerusalem, and supporting their steadfastness, Haniyeh said: "These campaigns constitute political and moral support for our Palestinian people in Jerusalem, confirm Jordan's strategic positioning towards the Palestinian cause, and reaffirm the importance of financial support."

Haniyeh added, "These campaigns confirm the inalienable Jordan's responsibility towards the holy sites, based on the Palestinian-Jordanian agreement," stressing Hamas' adherence to this historical role of the Jordanian Hashemite guardianship over Jerusalem and the holy sites.

Haniyeh pointed out that the Arab-Arab disputes constituted a golden regional situation for the occupation to carry out its colonial settlement projects, calling for integrating all efforts among the Arab and Islamic countries, the reunification of the Arab ranks, and the end of disputes through a strategic dialogue that results in historical reconciliations.

Hamas chief stressed his refusal to any projects aimed at liquidating the Palestinian issue and undermining the Jordanian sovereignty, pointing out that the deal of the century carries risks to Jordan as well as Palestine.

Haniyeh expressed his appreciation for Jordan's stance of rejecting the deal of the century that carried economic and financial troubles.

"The Jordanian people and the peoples of the Ummah are rich in their traditions, customs, cultural reserves, and the financial resources all of which form a strong support base for Jerusalemites, especially in the Old City, and to renew their homes and secure them good life," Haniyeh added.
