Prisoners Committee: female Palestinian prisoner is still detained in Damoon prison

The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Committee said that the prisoner Mona Qaadan, 50, from the town of Arraba, southwest of Jenin, is still detained in the Damoon prison, and has been subjected to a harsh interrogation for 22 days in the Jalameh cells in difficult conditions.

The Committee’s lawyer quoted the detainee, Qaadan, in a statement received by Safa on Sunday, that she and the two detainees, Shatila Abu Ayada and Amal Taqatqa, waged an open-ended hunger strike for a week, which began on October 14 and until October 24 of this year, in solidarity with the hunger striking prisoners, demanding better prison conditions.

Qaadan indicated that her arrest on April 12, 2021 was a shock to her.

It is noteworthy that this is the sixth arrest of the detainee Qaadan, who was released in the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange in 2011.
