Lawyer Jawad Boulos said that a session will be held in the Military Occupation Court in Salem, on Tuesday, for the prisoner Alaa Al-Araj from Tulkarm, who is on hunger strike for the 94th consecutive day, rejecting his administrative detention.
In a statement to the Palestinian Prisoner Club, Boulos explained that the court will convene with the aim of extending his detention until Thursday to complete the judicial procedures and prepare an indictment against him.
He indicated that it is likely that his administrative detention order will be rescinded.
The detainee Al-Araj, 34, is in the Ramle Clinic prison. He is frequently transferred to hospitals. He was recently transferred for investigation despite his poor health. He has been arrested several times since 2007, including administrative detentions.
The total years of his detention reached more than five years sporadically. During his previous periods of detention, he lost his father, and his only child saw the light while he was in detention.
It is noteworthy that the occupation authorities re-arrested him administratively on June 30, 2021.
