Iraq affirms its rejection of normalization with Israel

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed its firm and supportive position on the Palestinian cause, and its rejection of the issue of normalization with Israel.

The ministry’s spokesman, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, said in a statement published by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “We renew the known position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iraq’s firm and supportive position for the Palestinian cause and the implementation of the full legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the rejection of the issue of normalization with Israel."

He added, "Iraq's position is firm and supportive of the Palestinian cause and with the implementation of the full legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and Iraq rejects the issue of normalization with Israel."

He pointed out that "Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein affirmed at the Manama Dialogue Conference, as is the case in all international forums, the right of the Palestinian people and the rejection of all forms of the normalization."

He continued, "What was reported by a media outlet that impersonated another institution without verifying its authenticity, especially after Minister Hussein reiterated his saying "No to normalization", whether at the Manama conference or in multiple television interviews.
