UNRWA Chief: Gaza Resembles a Post-Apocalyptic World

The Commissioner-General of UNRWA, Philippe Lazzarini, described the situation in Gaza as beyond words, likening it to a post-apocalyptic world. He stated that those returning from Gaza report an environment overwhelmed by garbage, sewage, and rubble, where people struggle daily against death, hunger, and disease.

In earlier remarks, Sigrid Kaag, the UN’s Senior Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs and Reconstruction in Gaza, described the situation as devastating, with civilians enduring unimaginable suffering amidst ongoing genocide.

For the 438th consecutive day, “Israel” continues its aggressive war on Gaza, marked by war crimes, horrific massacres, and attempts to forcibly displace residents from northern Gaza. The humanitarian crisis deepens as international efforts for relief remain blocked.
