The Israeli occupation has once again refused a United Nations request to deliver humanitarian aid to the besieged northern Gaza, according to UN Secretary-General spokesperson Stephane Dujarric.
Speaking on Tuesday, Dujarric stated, “Yet again, the Israeli authorities denied a request from the United Nations to reach the besieged parts of the north today, [including] Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahia, and east of Jabalia.”
The spokesperson highlighted the consistent obstruction of UN-led aid missions to northern Gaza, where dire conditions persist amidst a complete blockade. Efforts to deliver essential supplies, including food, water, and medical aid, have faced repeated rejection.
“Yesterday, we underscored how the vast majority of our efforts to reach north Gaza governorate since the Israeli siege began 10 weeks ago have been blocked,” Dujarric added, describing the ongoing crisis as a violation of humanitarian principles.
The northern Gaza Strip remains under relentless bombardment and siege, with displaced civilians enduring starvation, lack of medical care, and deteriorating living conditions. International organisations continue to call on “Israel” to facilitate access for humanitarian aid, warning of a worsening humanitarian catastrophe.
