Euro-Med: Storming Kamal Adwan Hospital is a New Step in the Destruction of Gaza's Healthcare System

The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has condemned the Israeli occupation army's raid on Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, describing it as part of a broader strategy to destroy the Palestinian healthcare system and impose deadly living conditions on the people of Gaza. This action, they stated, constitutes an act of genocide against the Palestinian people.

The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor explained that the Israeli forces surrounded the hospital at 7:00 AM, ordering the hospital's director, Hossam Abu Safiya, to gather the patients, injured individuals, and medical staff in the hospital yard within 15 minutes. Shortly after, communication with the hospital was cut off.

This raid is part of a pattern of repeated attacks on Kamal Adwan Hospital and its surroundings over the past weeks. The most recent attack occurred yesterday when several booby-trapped boxes were detonated around the hospital, resulting in the martyrdom of five hospital staff members.

The Euro-Med Observatory pointed out that since the start of the third incursion into northern Gaza on October 5, Israeli forces have repeatedly attempted to force medical staff to evacuate Kamal Adwan Hospital, even threatening to bomb the hospital if they refused to leave.

The Euro-Med Observatory has called on the International Committee of the Red Cross and the World Health Organization to urgently intervene to protect the patients, injured individuals, and medical staff, and to provide necessary medical supplies and materials.

The raid this morning is yet another escalation in the Israeli occupation forces' efforts to dismantle Gaza's healthcare infrastructure, endangering the lives of those inside the hospital, as well as the medical teams working to provide care.

The hospital's director, Hossam Abu Safiya, announced the martyrdom of five medical personnel: Ahmed Samour (pediatrician), Israa Abu Zaida (specialist), Abdul Majeed Abu Al-Aish (laboratories paramedic), Maher Al-Ajrami (paramedic), and Fares Al-Houdli (maintenance specialist). Kamal Adwan Hospital remains a frequent target of Israeli attacks, putting it at significant risk.
